I have a 6 year old XP system and have just updated the ram to 1 gb. When I reboot the system, the display is at the lowest resolution and the color is at the lowest setting..I change it and it just reverts to the same old fuzzy screen..I kept fooling with it and rebooting yeasterday and it finally took the change..But today it went back again..I did the troubleshoot and checked drivers, but nothing showed bad. I only have dial-up and it is down right now..Anyone ever heard of this problem?..Thanks

Does device manager have any devices 'flagged' as having a problem (ie a yellow or red symbol against any device)?
