I personally would recommend an AMD processor instead of Intel- I use AMD because it runs faster, cooler and its cheaper- and you can overclock it later to get more out of it preformance wise- all the other parts are very nice :tazz:- if you would like more information about AMD and the parts, please reply and someone can assist you with that

  • RAM is NOT compatible => your RAM needs to be 240 pin (i would suggest splitting it up among 2 x 256mb Sticks)
  • CD-ROM Drive is NOT compatible => Your motherboard does not support IDE connections, find a CD-ROM Drive that connects via SATA (also if it was me i would get a DVD-ROM Drive as it reads both CD's and DVD's
  • Hard Drive is NOT compatible => same as CD needs to be SATA
  • DVD-RW is NOT compatible => also needs to be SATA
If you have any questions just post 'em be glad to help you out........hope this message isn't too late

looks like the board has 1 IDE buss, so you could use the CD/DVD drives.
for the RAM, do need 240 pin. getting 2 matched sticks is a good idea, to maximize FSB speed.
definitely need a SATA hard drive, and PCIExpress video. dont cheese out on video card, if your gonna build a system with that much power. recommended would be nvidia 6600GT or ATI X600 or better. the AMD/nvidia guys can tell you more on that.

you said custom built, so chances are good when you order it, they will catch anything that isnt compatible.

AMD is certainly an option. doby and soxrok will steer you well if you want to go that way.

Are you sure about the CD rom...

Usually most mobo's have 1 ide slot on them for cd rom drives. I didn't look it up so I guess I should before I continue. Anyway, if your willing to spend that much, buy a amd 64 over your p4. AMD is much more stable and responsive. It does a lot better with large amounts of data mainly because they use a better pipeline system. Anyway, if your building a gaming system...Amd can hold up to gaming better than the P4 series. The only problem with the AMD is that I haven't saw any AMD 64 mobo that support Pci-express which blows. PCI express is so much nicer. If you go with pentium, look into the P4 processors that are compatible with pci express. It's the p4 with the 9xx sockets. Also look in for the Nvidia pci express cards. their best is the 6800, but I saw the 6600 and it was very nice for the price. K. Tell me what you think
