I just built a system with the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 Ghz
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB OC
Zalman CNPS9500 Heatsink
Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU ATX12V / EPS12V 750W Power Supply
CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory (x4)

I'm trying to overclock to 3.0 Ghz via Bios but it won't keep! I timed the memory to 4-4-4-12 and that keeps but not the CPU clocks. I followed the BIOS suggestions but it won't work.

Oh ya.. btw, P35-DS3L is not for hardcore quadcore-overclock.. if you can get your Q66 past 3.2-3.4 GHZ that is a very good result already still your Zalman CNPS 9500 is a "good" hsf but not great IMHO.. so, I advice you not to go over 1.4000vcore for daily usage...

Hi there.. it sure kept, but please do the stress test as I said before to ensure that your system is stable..

Now, please lower these voltage into what I recommend below as +0.3v is quite high if you do not cool the northbridge properly

PCI-E OverVoltage Control [+0.1V]
FSB OverVoltage Control [+0.2V]
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.2V]

Please download Prime95 from the link below:

Under the stock heatsink, don't have the voltage any higher then +0.1. To be honest, there is no real reason why you should need to up your voltage and you don't have a very high FSB nor do you have 4 sticks of RAM.

PCI-E OverVoltage Control [+0.1V]
FSB OverVoltage Control [+0.2V]
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.2V]

None of those should be that high, the following should work just fine.
PCI-E OverVoltage Control [+0.0V]
FSB OverVoltage Control [+0.1V]
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.1V]
You should have the above at the very most, putting an excessive amount of juice into your parts will dramatically shorten their lifespan if not cooler properly. Even if they are cooled properly, the lifespan will be decrease, abit, not quite as much. However, I seriously doubt that you need to up the FSB voltage anything.

This is very important and many people forget to change this value, have you done so?

hi there.. what I do mean is if you have a third-party northbridge cooler.. even an excellent case wont help much if you are using stock cooler..

and Please follow James advices...
