I have recently set up an FTP server ON LINUX which I can easilly access from my LAN. I have then forwarded ports from my router to my server, like so:

and tried to access it from outside, like so:

ftp://[my_router's_IP_address]/

That didn't work. So then I used WS_FTP client and it still didn't work.

Any suggestions??? I will be really grateful! I have been trying for weeks!

you shouldn't be using your ROUTER's ip you should be using your MODEM's ip which is your public ip...go to www.whatismyip.com...that will give you your public ip address...use that to attempt to connect with your FTP client of choice
