missing disk space

My windows folder shows 11 gb of used space but when i open and check it only shows up about 4 gb including hidden files. I have a couple of virus programs but nothing shows up. Thnks. if ya can

You might try downloading space monger and see what it can tell you what files are taking up the most space.

I dont know what it was but i deleted it tnks soooo much.. hope none of it was needed

13 gb freed up.

Good grief! If you don't know what it was, why did you delete it?

Would have made a lot more sense to have come back here and asked about it first.

As you said, hope none of it was needed

Maybe you deleted restore points.

If you did, would have been wise to try turning off and on system restore first (this will remove all but the latest restore point SAFELY!)
