When accessing the internet, ads on websites would be replaced by fake spyware alerts and fake spyware removal program ads. This has slowed down my computer and internet. I believe this is linked to outerinfo which was for some reason on my computer and i managed to get it off.

Before we can use "HijackThis" You must place this into it's own folder, If we ever need to restore any Item then this folder will safely store all entries and enable us to then use the "Back-up" feature that HijackThis offers

To Create a New Folder HijackThis on the C: drive,

Open My Computer ( Windows key + E )
then double click on Local Disk (C:)
Once open right click and select New > Folder and Name the folder as you wish (eg: HijackThis)
Please now move HijackThis.exe into the new folder.



Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Viewpoint components are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components.

I would like to suggest uninstalling Viewpoint Manager using Add/Remove Programs

then Click on: Start > Run and type in services.msc Click "OK"

In the Services window look for Viewpoint Manager Service

Select/highlight and right click the entry, and choose: Properties
On the General tab, under Service Status click the Stop button
Beside: Startup Type, in the drop menu, select: Disabled
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Reboot your system and then please re-scan with Hijackthis and post the new log.

Open HijackThis again, select "Do a System Scan only" and place a checkmark in the boxes before the following entries:

Close all other open windows and click on Fix checked, then exit HijackThis.


Please reboot your computer and enter Safe Mode (tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load, then select Safe Mode).

Open SUPERAntiSpyware and click the "Scan your computer" button.
On the left, select "C:\Fixed Drive".
On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose "Perform Complete Scan".
Click "Next" to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click "OK".
Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click "Next".
After quarantining anything found, you may be prompted to reboot, click "Yes".

Reboot back into Normal Mode...

Now Re-scan with HijackThis and post the new log and the SUPERAntiSpyware Log
