Yesterday I clicked on a link for Anti-Virus Pro and Earthlink Protection Center immediately gave me
a warning message that a virus was trying to attack my computer. My desktop changed to some
antivirus warning and that I should install a antivirus program. Needless to say I worked on this for
7 hours yesterday running numerous scans and such.
I ran a program in safemode that removed a couple of trojans such as one called antiv.exe.

I'm still not confident that I removed everything, even though some scans are coming up clean.
What else can I do to be certain I no longer have a virus on my computer?? I appreciate your help.

Howdy:

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
