Hi........
First time on here.
Hope you can help.
When im online and try to listen to music, there is no sound.
Now heres the weird bit. Some games [not online]which used to have sound now have no sound. Others do have sound. No problems playing music from my CDrom or DVDrom drives. Recent soundcard, havent changed it since the sound went missing on me and ive got the latest drivers.
Im using AOL. Always have. Nothing has changed........just the sound !!!!
Any ideas?
Thanks......

Hi AORheaven, welcome to G2G.

Give the registry fix described here a try: http://forums.cnet.c...ssageID=2416034

Before you make any changes to the registry, please back it up. An excellent way to do this is to install ERUNT. Let it add an entry to your Start menu during the install process. That will allow ERUNT to backup your registry each time you boot. It only takes a few seconds and has no real impact on boot time. Run ERUNT

Hi..........
Thanks for your reply...........
The flash player download made no difference at all............
As you dont use flash player in games....Surely this wouldnt make any difference anyway ??
Forgot to mention that at the time the sound packed up, the annoying jingle when windows starts up also stopped....
Ive checked the check box to make sure that jingle is 'on' but it doesnt sound.
Like i said before, its about 50% of games that wont play sound anymore, and no sounds at all on any online music sites. No problem with sound-cards or speakers or anything like that.
Any idea??
Thanks..............
