So, one of my friends is upgrading his comp (with my help) and he is no longer in need of his Pentium D 3.0ghz (getting a E6750)

He is choosing whether to sell it on ebay or give it to me.

He said that if it will noticeably improve my system, he will give it to me if not, then he is just selling it.

So i'm asking you, will a Pentium D 3.0ghz noticeably improve my current system?

Is your mother board a socket 775?
I have the Pentium D 3.0GHz and my computer is blazing fast!
With the dual core your speed is about 50% faster, so it is like having a 4.5GHz processor.
The smithfield (Pentium D) is basicly 2 P4 cores on one chip.
Please read this.

If you were flashing your BIOS version to A02, yes, you have successfully done so.

That would really depend on what you do with your computer. Also, synthetic benchmarks don't give you a good idea of who a particular piece of hardware performs. :)
