Hi,

You could try a system restore - Operating systems are ME, 2000 & XP, this option isn't available on versions before Windows ME.

Start -
All programs -
Accessories-
system tools-
System restore -

Choose a date you know the Dll file was in its original state - if this fails, try downloading the dll file. do a search on google.

www.dll-files.com

This is for missing files, but it could help - if not, back up your data, and remaster your Pc :tazz:

Hope this can sort your problem.

A System Restore would indeed do the trick, but the following is less invasive.
BTW, I AM assuming you're running Windows XP here. If so, do the following:

Copy the text inside the 'Quote' box to Notepad, and save in a location of your choice as Fix.reg (make sure you save as type: 'all files')

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile]
@="Application Extension"
"AlwaysShowExt"=""
"EditFlags"=hex:01,00,00,00
"TileInfo"="prop:FileVersion;FileDescription"
"InfoTip"="prop:FileDescription;Company;FileVersion;Create;Size"
"NoOpen"=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\DefaultIcon]
@=hex(2):25,53,79,73,74,65,6d,52,6f,6f,74,25,5c,53,79,73,74,65,6d,33,32,5c,73,\
  68,65,6c,6c,33,32,2e,64,6c,6c,2c,2d,31,35,34,00

Doubleclick Fix.reg, and answer yes when prompted to add its contents to the Registry. Restart your computer, and you should be fine.

Cheers,

Hi Pieter - good to see you, as always! ;)

I noticed to my dismay that here was one board I'd never ever posted at... shock!... Horror!... :tazz:

Seriously though, thanks for the welcome!

As you know, due to lack of time I've stopped tackling threads that promise to need a lot of following up, but I'll certainly try to help out where I can.

I tried not to raise expectations.

Everybody just listen to this man and your problems will flee in all directions.

~That was an understatement~ :)

Seriously:
We know how busy you are and how much you already have contributed, so lay back, relax and if you like, lend a helping hand whenever you can find the time. :)

Regards,

Pieter

I gathered as much, considering the fact that this appears to be one of your main hangouts. ;)

Thanks, I certainly will! :tazz:
