Is there a way to net send a message from window machine to linux machine connected through a LAN .I know the other way round

I believe that there is a program called Samba, which allows windows and linux computers to be recognized by each other on the network.

i am not sure about the features of this program though, there might be a net send.

Well that was my point using SAMBA I can net send a machine running on window but wha tabt the other way round that is if a peron on window machine wants to net send linux machine(which he cannot figure that its linux machine shown in the network) than how one can go abt it
