Thank you for your time and assistance! Even though I have executed the steps in the Malware cleaning guide I am plagued by
popups, especially when I am trying to access Ebay. Ebay will partially load then the popups begin! Also, I must frequently reboot
as this blasted computer continually freezes up. Below please find log attachments from combo fix and HJT. Awaiting your ok to
use my hammer and end its misery. Suzanne

Hi zanelliot

welcome to geekstogo :)

sorry to keep you waiting. lets do a deeper scan of your machine for me to analyse.

(if your problem has already been resolved, could you just let me know so that i an move onto other logs to help others, thanks)

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

you may need to post the logs over 2 replies to ensure all the information is posted.

Hi zanelliot

i cant see an antivirus program on your machine - is this correct?

in this post we will run a vundofix (though i dont really expect it to find anything), clear some malware i can see in your logs and scan a suspicious looking file.

====STEP 1====
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

====STEP 2====
Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer and Save it to your desktop.

Do NOT run it yet

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [nvcoi] C:\Program Files\nvcoi\nvcoi.exe
O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} -
O20 - Winlogon Notify: urqqomn - urqqomn.dll (file missing)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\Program Files\nvcoi\nvcoi.exe
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    purity
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List Of Files/Patterns To Search For and Move" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • A log of files and folders moved will be created in the c:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder in the form of Date and Time (mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log). Please open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

====STEP 3====
Jotti File Submission:

Please go to Jotti's malware scan
Copy and paste the following file path into the "File to upload & scan"box on the top of the page:
C:\WINDOWS\CBTWlanSrv.exe

Please post the results of the scan in your next reply.

If Jotti is busy, try the same atVirustotal

In your next reply can i see:
1. confirmation of whether you have an anti-virus program on your machine (we can install one if not)
2. the vundofix.txt
3. the OTMoveIT log
4. the jotti scan log
5. a new hijackthis log
