Not sure if this matter or not BUT the game that works, Unreal Tournament is installed in C:\System and the Battlefield games(not working) are installed in Program files. Would that have anything to do with it???

Is that the default location where the installer placed them or was it an option you selected when you installed ?

Usually that sort of problem occurs if it is nested 3 or 4 down the hierarchy

So it might be woth re-installing one to the root C:\ drive to see if that resolves it

Hi kingviper I am coming up with a busted flush on this one. Resolutions vary from re-install the programme (done) Clear malware (done) to a total re-install (not recommended )

What I will do is keep searching and if I do find a resolution I will pm you - as it may take a while - Sorry :)

OK I found this on the wow forum and it relates to the same error when using downloaded maps - does this fit your profile ?

There is also a patch available but I do not know if it cures this problem http://support.ea.co...amp;p_topview=1

I'm looking into those links now. This quite strange and yes I did download some modded maps back then too.

ASUS is a motherboard http://www.asus.com/ . I am so far out of ideas now I feel it would be best to direct you to the games or application forums where the real experts reside. Sorry I could not fix your last problem. But on the bright side you are virus free now
