Hi everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind here with my computer and any help with my computer would be appreciated as I have no idea what to do

I'd been getting a lot of popups, etc. lately but my computer started acting really out of the ordinary today with the same popups over and over and it going so slow I could hardly open any programs. I found out that the problem may have been wintools, I don't even know what that is but I got instructions on how to remove it. Problem is, I had to restart first and ever since then I haven't been able to login to windows xp at all. I get as far as the screen where you have to choose which user, and I get an error # 0x80090019 ... then it acts as if it will still let me login, but I can't. Every time I click on my name to login in brings me back to the blue screen and eventually its totally blue with nothing left. So I have no idea what's wrong with that.

I've tried booting up in safe mode but I can't, it just ends with a black screen that says safe mode in all four corners. And I tried to go to my last configuration that worked, and it lets me get in after like 15 minutes but it won't open programs or delete anything as it says I don't have sufficient resources.

So I don't really know what to do, I had a working computer this morning and now it won't do anything! Another error I kept seeing earlier was 0xc0000142, though that knows nothing to me. I'm scared now that I'm going to have to get my computer reformatted and lose everything on it, so any advice you can give me would be great! I need it step by step because I don't know much about computer configurations or anything like that... thank you so much for your time

Hello good sir

You know I actually tried that after I made this post because I read up on it, and at first it seemed to work, then I ran ad-aware and restarted my computer and now the problem is back again. So unforunately that didn't help :\ Have you any other suggestions? Now I'm really scared to restart my computer again, lol

The computer booted okay after running the repair? If so, run the repair installation again. When finished don't run Ad-aware.

Ok, I will try that if I can, I hate to be a bother but yeah, I tried running the repair thing again and it just errored and froze up on me. It was almost done so I tried logging in again and it just came up with a blue screen with some error: IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and told me to restart,

So now I'm trying the repair thing one more time, however it's going very slow so I'm not sure whether it will work! And now my mouse doesn't work either, it's stuck in the middle of the screen. I tried unplugging it and replugging it in to no avail. Everything happens at once!!

Alright I got it working, but 1 question:

If the virus scan finds a virus, and I try to delete it but it says it can't because it's in use, what should I do? If you know

There's a good chance it's located in a system recovery file. Try disabling and then re-enabling system restore. This should clear the restore points.

If that doesn't work, try removing it in safe mode. Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu).

Well I got that sorted, and everything else you said worked, so my computer seems to be working fine so far And now I'm going to run a tune-up on this thing and hopefully it'll go smoothly,
