I'm not sure if I should be worried but I just can't take to not know .
Yesterday I opened a MP3 file that was 4.1KB (of course, I didn't noticed it was this small...) I only noticed after opening it, like 2 seconds after clicking. Nothing happened.
I know that .mp3 shouldn't or can't carry virus or anything right? I know that there was some bug that allowed it to exploit the system when opened in Microsoft Media Player.
I opened it with notepad and I saw it's code, mostly was encrypted but there was some stuff like "This should be used in Windows" ".../i386/storage.exe" and some code like strings and stuff.
Of course, after seeing this I got very scared.
The file was indeed mp3 because I see the extensions and there was nothing beyond .mp3 (meaning it wasn't a .mp3.exe).
But now I'm not sure if anything happened.
I scanned my computer, searched for the storage.exe file, there are no new processes, Wintask Manager (i think?, the program that analises the processes) didn't find anything odd...
But now I'm scared, I don't know if I should keep worrying or shouldn't have any problem.
Thank you in advance.
