G,DAY,
i have recently had a prob with the printer,it has a message saying'there was an error writing to LPT1: for the printer {EPSON Stylus C43 Series}
i am running on win 98. Any ideas??

Try restarting in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). Remove the LPT1 port from the device manager and restart. The Hardware Wizard should detect and reinstall the port.

<_< :P thanx, i tried it but it didnt make a difference.
but you,ll never guess what i did. i went to settings>printers> properties> and changed the port connection from LPT1 to EPUSB1.
i guess im not as silly as i thought i was
