i cant get sound off any program or anything, its all internal speakers, nothing is external. it just started all of a sudden, and i cant even get sound from the headphone jack. i restarted and restarted in safe mode, i restarted back to a good configuration, and got nothing. is it something i can fox myself, or am i going to have to take it to a computer repair shop...also, i live in germany and that poses problems with getting it to a shop i trust and that speaks english

Have there been any other notable changes to your system? It may be disabled in BIOS or you may just need drivers for it. You can go to the Dell website, drivers and downloads, put your service tag # in and get the drivers.

Haha although the Dell site has changed, so you'll need to select "Search for Drivers" at the top of support.dell.com. The rest of it is still the same.
