Hello,

Right now I just have sp2 installed without all the extra security updates. I have noticed in the past my computer slows way down when I run the updates. I know it fixes lots of holes but why the slow down. It is like someone tied a boat anchor to it. So for the past 8 months or so I have ran without updates. I know these are important and would like to fix the slow down after or before the install but don't know how or even if there is a way.

Thanks for any help you can be

Windows updates should not cause any noticeable slow down. Try to install them again. If the computer slows down after that then there is some other problem with your software.
