Taskbar Problems

Having a small problem with taskbar. There used to be a ">>" symbol on the left hand side of the taskbar section which upon me cliking it would expand enabling me to see all my icons, but that symbol is no longer there and I event tried adding another icon via taskbar>properites>customize>past Items>Apply but to no avail. The extra icon will not show up in taskbar.

Did you try taskbar/properites and in the upper section under "taskbar appearance" putting a checkmark in "show quick launch"?
