hi all have just bought a new laptop and need some help, wireless connection, toshiba laptop, netgear wireless adsl modem router, phillips snus600 wireless usb adapter, can connect online using a cable but cant connect wireless, it has to be something im doing but im new to this and im not sure of what to do any help please thanks indie

Hi Indie:

Obviously, inability to connect to the internet is caused by one of two components: (1) the thing connecting to the network or (2) the network connected to the internet. We know that component (2) is working because you can connect using a cable. So let's look at your computer. When you try to connect to a wireless network, what do you see? Does it come up with any available networks? Does it have an error message? Does your wireless internet have a passphrase you need to put in?
