I'm tasked with removing Vista from a laptop and replacing it with XP. I will be copying the Vista files to a USB External HD. Will the docs created in Vista convert back to XP without any serious problems?

Hello,
The operating system does not matter as much as the program that opens the documents.
If it is a word document it opens with word, Excel opens with Excel, Ect...
As long as you have the same programs installed (Microsoft Office) then it will not matter if it is XP, or Vista.
Are you using Office XP, Office 2003, Or Office 2007?
