...does not seem to like pound signs, and the @ and " things are the wrong way round. Regional setting is for the UK.

Computer is a desktop-replacement, i.e. a biog laptop if that makes any difference.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I used to have this problem, its easy though to solve -

Open your control panel -

Open Regional and language options -

Then in the first tab, make sure the top and bottom drop boxes both say UK

Then click the 3rd tab (advanced) make sure the drop box says uk.

Finally and most importantly the second tab (languages) click and then click Details, default language change to UK, then where says installed devices, click Add - UK, then Remove US. Make sure you add UK first before you remove US, else will come up with error message.

And thats it
