Need help using process explorer and gmer

Not sure where to post this but im trying to figure out how to use process explorer and gmer. I have some sort of infection but symantec av shows nothing. Highjackthis log is clean also. The file ddccayv.dll is in the registry at 'winlogon' and in the system32 folder. Of course if i delete the keys / file they reappear. Process explorer shows the files as loaded but if i select 'close handle' it just restarts. I'd like to solve this myself rather than run a tool that will fix this. Can anyone give me more information on how to use these tools to shut this thing down?
