I'm sorry to post this again. Apparently i posted a thread a number of hours ago stating that the security alert pop ups are gone.

Apparently, when i restart my computer, the alerts were back on. I tried all means to stop it, scanning it with norton antivirus 2004 and super antispyware but they were useless (no spyware,adwares,virus or trojects were detected). I followed the instructions as stated in the security alerts but it did not resolve the issue. I have set and checked the reccommened settings in norton configuration and disbaled windows security alerts. Yet the pop ups keeps appearing every few seconds.

Here is the message seen in the security alert -

"your computer is a risk

-Virus protectoin is out of date

Open your Notor product to resolve these issues,
To prevent duplicate security status alerts, use my existing Norton product alerts and turn off redundant Windows Secirity Centre alerts. (Recommended)"

I'm using windows Xp (SP2) with an out-dated(expired) norton 2004 (will be getting the latest norton internet security software in 3weeks time)

The alerts are annoying but they don't seem to cause harm to my computer as yet.

I'm not sure if this happened as a result of a spyware/virus or due to system configuration problems.

Either way, i have no idea how to solve this problem and i plead to you guys to help me.
