Rescan with HijackThis:

You are using Kazaa. This is not technically malware by itself, but it installs malware in order to run properly and it opens the door for every other nasty program you can think of. I strongly recommend that you remove it. Read this article for alternatives that will provide some of the same function without the garbage: http://www.spywarein...m/articles/p2p/ If you opt to remove it, first use Add/Remove Program to remove it and any reference to Altnet and P2P Networking. Go to your control panel, then to add/remove programs...uninstall P2P networking...If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.
P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns. You may also want to run KazaaBegone....

Please run one or both of these online virus scans: Trendmicro Housecall....Panda Active Scan

• For Housecall, select the 'Autoclean' option. Please tell me of any files it can't clean.
• For Panda, use the default settings, and tell me of any files it can't clean.

Run this free online trojan scan. Let it remove any infections it finds.

Reboot.

Please download Ad-aware SE Personal 1.05 and install it.

Before scanning with Ad-aware SE Free:
Run a FULL adaware scan using the following configuration below

• Update
  • Select Check for updates.
  • Then Connect and download the latest reference file.
• Click Start
• Select Perform Full System Scan and hit Next to let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
• It will list malware files and registry keys. Click Next.
• Under the Critical Objects tab, rightclick in the list, choose Select All, then Next.
• It will ask for verification of checked items. Choose OK.
• Close Ad-Aware, Shut down and reboot your system.

Next, scan with Spybot Search and Destroy:

• Download the latest version of Spybot from either:
  * http://www.safer-net...load/index.html
  * http://www.spybot.in...rors/index.html
• Install spybot and by default is should install into C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy.
• Run Spybot by clicking on "Start" => "Programs" => "Spybot - Search & Destroy" => "Spybot - Search & Destroy".
• The first time you run it, allow it to create a backup of your registry when prompted. This will take a few minutes to complete.
• Click on "Search for Updates".
• If any updates are found, place a check mark next to each and click on "Download Updates".
• Click on "Immunize" and once it detects what has or has not been blocked, block all remaining items by clicking on the green plus sign next to immunize at the top.
• Click on "Search & Destroy" => "Check for Problems".
• When Spybot is complete, it will show RED entries, BLACK entries, and GREEN entries in the window.
• Make sure there is a check mark beside the RED entries ONLY.
• Choose ‘Fix Selected Problems’ and allow Spybot to fix the RED entries.

Reboot and post a new log.

parsingh, I can't find very much info on this problem, even in filesharing forums . You may have a corrupt install, so let's try to start from scratch.

1. Uninstall Kazaa from Add/Remove Programs.

2. Download Kazaabegone from here http://filesharingpl...kazaabegone.php. This will remove all traces of your current install.

3. Reinstall Kazaa, and let me know if it works.

I really can't think of anything else but a corrupted Kazaa installer. I'm sorry, you have me at a disadvantage. We're trained to get rid of Kazaa, not fix it.
