Every time I open up My Computer about 40mb of ram is used, and when I close My Computer the ram stays used. When I open My Computer again another 40mb of is used, and when close My Computer again the ram stays used. So now I have an approximate total of 80mb of ram still being used and it won't stop being used until I restart my computer. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong, and what I can do to fix it, thanks.

Welcome to Geeks To Go!

You may have some sort of Malware or virus that is causing this, i would suggest going to the Malware removal forum and getting some instruction on what and how to run some programs that can help identify your problem.

Good luck!

What does Task Manager show you, under the Processes tab? Click on the Memeory Usage column twice to sort it by size, descending.
