The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new HijackThis log.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the box next to the entry listed below.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis. Reboot the computer.

Hey Jill, we are just about done! I would like to check one thing though OK.

Reboot your computer first.

When it has rebooted, start OTScanIt.exe Copy/Paste the information in the codebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

Post me the log it creates and let me know how your computer is behaving now.

just to confirm: reboot=restart not necessarly shutting the computer down all the way correct?
(will click the restart button--thats what i did before but just wanted to be sure its correct)

all seems just wonderful RatHat! things certainly turned around when my desktop returned on its own and those annoying pop-ups left--they were getting bad.

should i be concerned with those files above that failed upon deleting?
