I deleted the c:\wp.exe and the registry entries, changed the background and that is fixed. Thank you all for your help. I at least did some reading. Now I would like to post my hijackthis log so that you can help me clean up the mess my grandson got me into when he logged on to my computer without my knowledge. Here is my log:

Tell you truth there are lots of "helpers" but a lot of logs
:tazz:

You have a lot of stuff on your machine, so let's remove some of it using the commercial applicaions. MAke sure all anti-spyware and A/V signature files are up to date before runniong a scan.

Run two of the following programs
Spysweeper
http://www.webroot.c...4a8c66981b574e5

Microsoft Anti-spyware
http://www.microsoft...re/default.mspx

Ad-aware se
http://www.lavasoft....ftware/adaware/

Run at least two of the online AV scans:
Panda Active Scan
House Call (Trend Micro)
BitDefender Free Online Virus Scan
F-Secure Free Online Virus Scan
Symantec Security Scan & Virus Detection
RAV AntiVirus Online Virus Scan!
Danish Antivirus scan
McAfee Antivirus scan
Danish Antivirus scan
F-SecureAntivirus scan

Clean out these folders
* C:\Windows\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ <=This will delete all your cached internet content including cookies.
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* Empty your "Recycle Bin".
MAy want to use CCleaner

Thank you for your help nommork. I am running the requested software now. I have bitdefender 8 on my machine running scans every night. Do you want me to run something else or will that suffice as one of the scans in its category?

Please run one of the other A/V programs. They are a little different and have their strengths and weaknesses

You may need to be in Safe Mode to find it or use My Computer/Windows Explorer and activate "Show Hidden/System Files" Show Hidden and System files:
http://service1.syma...x&osv=&osv_lvl=

Please follow the instructions below if you wish to remove the offending objects from your machine
The first step to clean your machine, it is highly recommended that you clean the following directory contents (but not the directory folder):
* C:\Windows\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ <=This will delete all your cached internet content including cookies. This is recommended and strongly suggested. In Windows 98*admin you can also go to IE, Tools, Internet Options, Temproary Internet Files section, Delete Files and check Off Line Content
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\<Any other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp\
* Empty your "Recycle Bin".

You may want to use CCleaner found here http://www.ccleaner.com
1.
Download this free tool called Pocket KillBox (or just Killbox)
http://www.downloads...org/KillBox.zip

Unzip the program to your desktop. Double Click the KillBox program on your desktop

Now Select *Delete on Reboot* in the first column.

2.
Next copy and paste the following line into the *Full Path to Delete* Box
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Click the Red Button with the White x on it.

The program will ask you to confirm you want to delete the file on reboot - answer *yes*

The Program will then ask you if you want to reboot, select *NO*

3.
Now, click on Start, then Run ... type cmd and press "OK".

In the next box that opens, type cd\
and press "Enter". Now you'll see the C: prompt ... looks like this: C:\>

Type cd\windows
and then Enter.

Next, type nail.exe /FullRemove
(make sure there is a space between nail.exe and the /) ... then Enter.

4.
HJT
Do NOT connect to the internet for the following
Close all windows
Open HJT and scan
If you wish to remove these entries then place checkmark(s) beside the entries below, once all entries have been checked press Fixed Check. You may have to try several times

Sorry for the length of time for this reply, but the problem is on my desktop and I travel all of the time using a laptop. Please note that I have run SpyBot, Adaware SE, ccleaner, Microsoft Antivirus and Pocket Killbox. I have also fixed the checked boxes for the isrvs crap with no success. Please give me some instruction. Thank you for all of your help and patience.
