Upgraded operationg system from Windows 98 to Windows XP on a Toshiba TE2000 Laptop, after loading everything seems fine except that the screen is reduced and has a black border about 1 inch wide around the edge. I have reduced the resolution to the lowest but it is still the same. The laptop only has 256 Mb RAM and some of it is used for video, could this be the problem.
I would be grateful for any assistance.

Hello Aussie the Bear, and welcome to Geeks To Go.
I would recommend upgrading to 512 MB of RAM, but that should not be causing this issue.
This sounds like a driver issue.
Here is a link to the toshiba site that has drivers for your laptop.
You will need a graphics, and/or video driver for Windows XP, however you may wish to get updated drivers for other area's as well.
