I am with TPG internet. I migrated from ADSL 1 to ADSL 2+. I havr a Netgear DG834g V2 with Latest firmware.
I have been on the phone to TPG every night this past week trying to sort out my constant slow internet and dropouts. I have Gone through nearly all there different trial and error procedures. These include, connecting my modem to another wall socket. Changing my home phone to another wall socket. My ISP tested the line to my routher that seemed fine according to them. I have checked and even run Netgear to make sure my router is compatible with ADSL 2+ and they said it is. Only thing i have left to do is try changing to a different modem. Or, according to TPG it would also be my internal wiring in my house. I am going nuts and getting fed up with this. If i change the modem and it still doesnt work I might try another ISP. Can anyone aded any light on what could be the problem?

Also my ISP changed my internet back to ADSL 1 and it is fine. It only is unstable with ADSL2+
