Compaq Armada laptop keyboard removal

I have a Compaq Armada M 700 Laptop and several letters on the keyboard work intermittently. I want to remove the keyboard to clean and/or replace.

I can lift the keyboard by undoing the four clips along the top row of the keyboard. Inside are two cables. I can release the smaller one by raising the white plugs either side of the cable.

I cannot work out how to remove the wider black cable. It appears to be held down by a thin green plastic "lock"

The website http://www.powerbrix...aq/m700_rem.htm

says "pull up both sides of the connector lock". Is that the green bar or something by where the cable actually plugs in? The photo on the website is unclear

This is new territory to me and I am probably being over cautious (!) but any help would be very welcome
