in addition to what I told you to do in post#8...uninstall all the toolbars...
you have norton...it will bog down a good system...the yahoo toolbar is the same...you can put them back later if you want...but for now do as I ask so we can determine the program(s) causing the slowdown..

He needs to get checked out in malware before he does that, I think. It would be confusing for all concerned if he follows your directions here while having an open log there.
