I don't see any programs listed in the add/remove programs section of my laptop. I appreciate any and all help.

Have you been using registry cleaners or System tweakers? If so, you may want to read this:

I actually have the programs listed now. I don't know if it was because I used a program called evidence eliminator or what. I am up and running now but will delete the registry tweaks and cleaners. Do you have any other suggestions?

The only recommendation I can give you is to elimate the evidence eliminator/registry cleaners/tweakers etc..
Don't use them, because you don't need them. As you have seen in my blogpost, you don't need them anyway, because after all they rather slow down than anything else. :)

How do you keep your system private? Evidence Eliminators states that once you delete something it still leaves traces on your computer and is never deleted. That is why I tried it. How does one truly secure their PC or laptop?

Did my previous hijack log show any discrepancies?

No, it didn't.

How do you keep your system private? Evidence Eliminators states that once you delete something it still leaves traces on your computer and is never deleted.

If you're on the internet, you can never keep it "private". That's how it is. What evidence eliminator does, is just the same as the standard built in cleanmgr in windows does = deleting the contents of your cache and cookies.

Oops I meant what about personal files, photos, videos, and documents. How do you keep those from being acessed? Hide or zip the files?

Why do you think they are accessed? As long as you don't share them with others or don't allow backdoors/trojans, you should be OK.
So just make sure your windows/Antivirus/Firewall is always up to date and be careful where you surf and what you download.

All three are great! I have Kaspersky Internet security on one computer, Eset on another and Avira Premium on my laptop. I have been using bitdefender in the past, but had issues with it.
They are great in detection and removal, so in this case, it will be a matter of testing each one of them and keep/purchase the one you like the most. :)
