Vista re-installation disk

Hi,

My sister has just got a new laptop with vista, there is also a Vista Reinstallation disk in the box. Can I use this disk to instal vista on my XP laptop?
If so do i have to unistall vista and will it do it automatically when i install vista

Howdy and welcome to GTG:

In a nutshell, no. That cd is OEM and is married to the system it came with even if that system ends up in the garbage. Also, it was made specifically for that system and will be looking for a specific BIOS and hardware setup during the installation.
