Windows keeps telling me to activate?

alright...i have a HP desktop with a Windows XP OS.

i have owned this computer for 2 years and it came with teh XP home ed....a couple days ago there was a power outage and now eveyrtime i boot the computer it says " hardware has changed significantly..windows must be reactivated within ... days"

any one know how to get pass this??

Activate it. Said message should then go away.

i tired activating it by using the product key from my HP computer tower...and every time it says :invalid key"

if you in fact didn't change any hardware and have the cd key that hp gave you then you need to just called microsoft's support number and explain your problem to them. they will help you activate winxp.

i called them and their operator took forever to take me to a representative...but once they did they resolved eveyrthing.
