Hi RealTalk

welcome back to geekstogo :)

before we proceed with the fix, a couple of questions first:

1. you are operating behind a proxy server AT&T WorldNet Services, 200 S. Laurel AVE., MIDDLETOWN, NJ, 07748, US - do you recognise the address? is it your ISP? or your company?

2. do you recognise this address? UkrTeleGroup Ltd.,Mechnikova 58/5, 65029 Odessa Ukraine - is it your ISP? or your company?

maybe that first one althought im not 100% because we use Internet Junction which i believed is owned by verizon, but maybe its at&t, definitly not the 2nd one, im on a router with a few different computers in the house, could it be that? would running hijack this on another computer and seeing if its there too work?

bare with me because i am computer stupid, but i clicked on the R1 proxy thing on my hijack this and asked for info and it said its a registry value that has been created and isnt present in a default windows nor needed, possibly resulting in a changed ie search page, start page, search bar page, or search assistant.

Please download FixWareout from here:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. If your firewall gives an alert, (because this tool will download an additional file from the internet), please don't let your firewall block it, but allow it instead.
Then you will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load (could take a very long time); this is normal.
Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log

ok, lets go for a deeper scan to see what is going on:

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Hi RealTalk

the kasperksy scan picked up 2 infections, one of which is safely quarantined and the other in the java cache.....which we will clear out now. the malwarebytes scan found a few bad files which were cleared out.

Clearing the Java cache:
there is a nice set of instructions http://www.java.com/.../5000020300.xml

Click Start > Control Panel.

Double-click the Java icon in the control panel and then the Java Control Panel will appear.

Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files and the Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.

Click Delete Files and the Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.

Make sure all three boxes are ticked: Downloaded Applets, Downloaded Applications and Other Files and then Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.

Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.

otherwise your logs are looking good. how is your machine running now?
