I recently downloaded a video file which was split into seven ".001" files, which I successfully joined together. However, the joined file is marked as a ".4" file, which I've never heard of, and can't seem to find information as to what a ".4" is. Do you guys have any ideas?

Your best course of action would be to contact the site or individual from whom you downloaded the file(s).

Best Regards

These files are normally split archive files so typically (but not always) any decent file unzipper program such as WinZip will be able to use them. A lot depends on how the file was made originally as to what to do with it when its been split up.
