Not really possible because IE is integrated with Explorer which is your GUI for the file system. You may remember that the European Union has charged Microsoft with anticompetitive practices for integrating the web browser with the OS. What you can do is install an alternative web browser, the most popular far and away being Firefox. You could also make your computer dual boot, using a Linux version to do your heavy web browsing, which will make it practically immune to any malware and since it doesn't need any antispyware it will also run faster.

Use Firefox from Mozilla. It installs as another browser and is not attacked like IE with virus and malware.
