I have found two sellers that have RAM for my eight year old Compaq Presario 5000. One has EDGE, the other "Major Brand" meaning Samsung, MICRO or Infineon. Are all these brands of equal quality? They all come with a lifetime guarantee. All are $30 for 256 MB. Is this a good price? Thanks for any replies.

PC 100 and 133 memory still sells for a good price. Here's where you could by a couple of sticks of 512 Mb PC133 memory for about $40.

I would prefer Samsung, Micron, Kingston, or crucial memory over any others.
