I don't have any idea how to solve this problem. The trouble is my Samsung camcorder used to work fine through both usb and firewire ports. I hadn't used it in a while and when I tried to download some video today through my firewire port and it tells me the device isn't found. It's preferable to use firewire as the speed and quality are much better. How do I get the computer to recognize the camera plugged into the firewire port? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the camera software and it works great through the usb but still nothing when plugged into the firewire.
