Do I need zonealarm still with a wireless router that has firewall?

Ive got a wireless router that says its got a firewall built in, my question is, do i still need to download a program like Zonealarm firewall to put on the laptop or are the wireless ones fine?

You don't "need" anything.
Zonealarm and other related programs are an optional extra but not a compulsory item needed to get online.
Anyway most routers employ NAT firewalls which are basically hardware firewalls and hardware firewalls are the better solution in the long run than any software firewall such as ZoneAlarm, however the varying quality of routers means some are better at it than others.
