I have installed my old IDE hard drive useing promise tech. PCI IDE card in my new computer that has a SATA drive . When it starts it shows that the old hard drive is recognized but the screen goes blank and will not boot up. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Check to see what you have the jumper on the IDE drive set to. I think it should be set to cable select. It could be that the promise controller is interfering with the sata controllers. Have you tried using a USB adapter on the IDE drive?
