LOADING PROGRAMS ON WINDOWS XP

ok so heres the deal...

my computer has been messed up for a while and we finally got it fixed. but now when i go to load a program say hp photosmart for a printer or sims or my digital camera program it doesnt let me me heres what it says

Feature:Disk<1>
component:<Disk1>Disk1 Files(1)
File: C:\program files\Instal Sheild Installation Information\
Error: Access is denied.

please help!! :)

Hi farmgirll1234, welcome to G2G:

Look in Event Viewer and see if any errors are being logged (they will be in RED)

Click Start then Run, type eventvwr.msc and press Enter or click OK

Look in all three categories listed on the left. Double click on any error to look at the details. Use the arrows to move up and down in the events listed.
