Starting in April, 2008, probably after a Microsoft update, my Internet connection (Firefox) started to work intermittently. When I try to shut the computer down, it says the Connections Tray is not responding. I have to hold the on/off button on my laptop down until the computer shuts off, then bring it back up.

I run Windows XP Home edition SP2 with current updates. I am not a techie, so please explain things to me in baby English.

Thanks,
NewTica

NewTica, first let me welcome you to Geeks-To-Go.

Secondly, I'd like for you first to get checked out in our malware forum. Sometimes you can experience issues like this if you are infected with malware.

Here's a link with directions on how to obtain help in our malware forum. If everything checks out, you can post back to this topic and we can go from there.
