I'm a bit of an oldschool junkie and recently pulled out some old DOS games trying to load them on my Vista notebook. However, nothing seems to be installing. Often the command prompt will pop up for a split second then close, or I've gotten the message "The system does not support full screen mode." Is there any way to get these working or am I just going to have to retire them again?

You can try disabling UAC. This might resolve the issue. If it does not, then you can leave them retired.
