Hi Geabo,

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Hi Geabo,

Please follow my instructions in the order they were given, if you come across something you don't understand or don't feel comfortable doing, don't hesitate to ask and I will get you sorted out :)
There are alot of instructions and it make take a while to finish, be paitent and make sure you get everything :)

Very Important!

You have a backdoor trojan installed on your computer.
Backdoor Trojans, IRCBots and Infostealers are very dangerous because they provide a means of accessing a computer system that bypasses security mechanisms and steal sensitive information like passwords, personal and financial data which they send back to the hacker. Remote attackers use backdoor Trojans as part of an exploit to to gain unauthorized access to a computer and take control of it without your knowledge.

If your computer was used for online banking, has credit card information or other sensitive data on it, you should immediately disconnect from the Internet until your system is cleaned.
All passwords should be changed immediately to include those used for banking, email, eBay and forums. You should consider them to be compromised. They should be changed by using a different computer and not the infected one. If not, an attacker may get the new passwords and transaction information. Banking and credit card institutions should be notified of the possible security breach.

Although the backdoor Trojan has been identified and may be removed, your PC has likely been compromised and there is no way to be sure the computer can ever be trusted again.
It is dangerous and incorrect to assume that because the backdoor Trojan has been removed the computer is now secure.
Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of malware, the best course of action is to reformat and reinstall the OS. When should I re-format?

If you choose to reformat please let me know in your next post. If not please proceed with the rest of my instructions.

Your Antivirus and Firewall is DISABLED! Kaspersky shows up in your DSS log as not running, I strongly suggest you enable it again as without it, your unprotected from malware.

You also have a left-over from Norton present on your computer. If you have already removed it, or want to, please go to start > control panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall:

LiveUpdate 2.7 (Symantec Corporation)

I will need you to temporarily disable Spyware Sweeper so that it does not interfere with our fixes.

Disable SpySweeper

Courtesy of Askey127

If you have Spy Sweeper version 4:

* Open it, Click Options over on the left, then Program options
* Uncheck load at windows startup.
* Over to the left, Click shields and Uncheck all there.
* Uncheck home page shield.
* Uncheck automatically restore default without notification.
* Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect before running HJT.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you have SpySweeper version 5:

To disable SpySweeper Shields

* Open SpySweeper.
* Click Shield Settings on the right

(or Shields on the left, depending what screen you're on).

* Click Internet Explorer and uncheck all items.
* Click Windows System and uncheck all items.
* Click Hosts File and uncheck all items.
* Click Startup Programs and uncheck all items.
* Close SpySweeper.

Reboot you computer, and ensure Spy Sweeper is disabled.

Step 1. Setting up Hijack This

* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Step 2. Running SDFix

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Step 3. Running SmitfraudFix
Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe

Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Step 4. Combofix

Please go here to install and download the Recovery Console.

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

In your next reply
Report from SDFix (Step2)
Report from SmitfraudFix (step3)
Report from ComboFix (step4)
Hijack This log (step1)

Hi Geabo,

It looks like you already downloaded ComboFix previously, is that true?

Let's try this:
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
    Posted Image
  • Notice the space between the x and /

Then,

Please go here to install and download the Recovery Console.

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Please post a new Hijack This log(After running ComboFix) and the ComboFix log in your next reply.

HEY MIKE!! ..(sorry ive been outta town for the past couple days and havent been on my computer) ..still givin me the same msg about ..."you cannot rename Combofix as Combofix[1]......please use another name, preferbaly made up of alphanumeric characters." ...wondering if theres a way to uninstall/install it in another way....I did try to d/l combofix in the near past to try to eliminate the problem but to of no avail...as for d/l'ing the recovery console it says i require the windows xp cd into my cdrom...not sure if i got one when purchasing my computer but I do have a similar cd that i burned onto 2 cd's upon purchasing the computer that are my 'recovery cd's' that is just my computer with nothing yet installed on it (wondering if 'windows xp' would be recognized on one of those in some way)...let me know your thoughts/suggestions...thx again for your assistance man.....

Hi there Geabo,

Let's try and see if this gets rid of combofix.

Step 1. Running CleanUp!

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer
  • Double click OTMoveIt.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTMoveIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.

Then,

Please go here and install the Recovery Console.

If you cannot get ComboFix to run

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
Note:These logs may be too large to post in one reply, if so, please post extra.txt in a seperate reply.

In your next reply

Either post the log from combofix along with a new hijack this log, or post main.txt and extra.txt from Deckards' System Scanner.

Hi there Geabo,

Step 1. Fixes with Hijack This

Please open HijackThis again and choose "Do a system scan only". Please put a check next to each of the following entries (if still present):

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.co...tup1.0.0.15.cab

You have PowerReg Scheduler in your log. This is a registration reminder that is used by a number of different companies. It is not needed and some people think that it reports back to the company about your computer, so I suggest fixing it, if you want to please check the line highlighted in blue.

Now please close all open windows except HJT and press "Fix checked".

And delete this file: C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Step 2. Making a CFscript

1. Please open Notepad
  • Click Start , then Run
  • Type notepad .exe in the Run Box.

2. Now copy/paste the entire content of the codebox below into the Notepad window:

File::
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb1942.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb4827.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb5436.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb4604.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb153.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb41.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb8253.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb3902.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb8467.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb6334.dat
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\internaldb2391.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xxyxXNhh.dll
C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ope2EF.exe

Folder::
C:\Program Files\Registry Defender Platinum
C:\Program Files\Antivirus Protection
C:\Program Files\PC-Antispyware
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\PC-Antispyware
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\PC-Cleaner
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\bwlajctu

Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\Browser Helper Objects\{3798E529-E3DD-4D36-A5DF-078E31A67A81}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3798E529-E3DD-4D36-A5DF-078E31A67A81}]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"AlcxMonitor"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\xxyvwUMF]

3. Save the above as CFScript.txt

4. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below. This will start ComboFix again.

Posted Image

5. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot).

Step 3. Running MalwareByte's Anti-Malware

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

In your next reply

Please post the log from ComboFix.
Please post the log from MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware.
Please post a new Hijack This log after running the above programs.

If the logs are to big to fit in one reply please spread them out over multiple replies.
