Question about Retail XP

I'm about to purchase the rest of my parts to finish my new computer and i found this OEM version of Windows XP. My question is if I would be able to start a comp up and load the program with just the cd rom drive or do i need some sort of floppy disc?

No, you boot from the CD. Here is an excellent Windows Home install guide:
