Hello,
I began getting the Dr. Watson error just recently everytime I was multi-tasking and the whole computer would freeze for several minutes. I've run everything from Spybot to Adaware and CleanUp but they didn't catch anything. Not to mention that AdAware gets an "error retrieving update" and my definitions are 47 days old...

*Update for May 9th*

I now get a "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error" whenever my screensaver resume from being active and I'm not sure what is causing this. I haven't received a Watson error since I posted this on 05/05/08 but now other stability issues are arising. I am also trying to do a Windows Update and when SP3 comes up it refuses to install! I haven't reinstalled Windows for a year and a half now, so perhaps it's tiime for a reinstall? Did I mention that I can't restore Windows to any previous times? There are plenty of "restore checkpoints" to choose from but they all fail and I'm stuck with whatever bugs I have at the moment. I can post an updated HJT Log once a staff member can help. Thank you.

**UPDATE on May 10th!

I think I have successfully returned my computer to normal. I uninstalled some programs such as an HP printer driver (which I found was causing the Win32 and the Watson error from earlier) and many unnecessary programs. I also found a restore checkpoint that worked! After restoring I also found out the reason that the Windows SP3 wouldn't download- after configuring and lots of restarting, I have SP3 installed and no errors in sight...not to mention a better performance than before. I am very happy that I didn't have to reinstall Windows XP. I still can't find out why Adaware won't update though. If anyone does reply to my topic, please let me know if I can post another HJT log so I can make sure I am "clean." Thanks for your time if you do reply.
