Lately my computer has been taking 2 to 3 times as long to boot as it normally does. I enabled boot logging and got the following:

What I find odd is the following:

Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS
Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS

Loaded then not loaded. Possible failed to load?

Anyone know what's going on?

I did a "sfc /scannow" and everything appeared to be alright. What I notice now though is that the computer overheats easier. I used to be able to run World of Warcraft and Aol Instant Messanger together and be alright. Now I can't even run WoW without overheating. I even shut off my antivirus to lower the resources, something that I don't advise to anyone, in an attempt to not overheat. However, it still happened.

The computer itself is not slow. I just notice that it takes 2-3x as long to boot and once I select my windows profile I can tell things load a tad slower. And as stated before, my computer overheats easier now. I'm not sure if windows is constantly trying to load this driver or what ... ?

Have you done standard procedures like unchecking all non-essential items in msconfig? Did you open the case, checked that all the fans are spinning freely? Did you perform cleanup of the interior with soft brushes and compressed air. especially of the heatsinks of the cpu and video cards?

Please report actual temperatures. Download Everest from the links below, install and run it. Click Computer and then Sensor. Let the table fill up, keep the program minimized, play your game for about 15 minutes, maximize Everest and report cpu, HD and motherboard temps.

This is a Dell Inspiron 5160 ... a laptop :)

And you know what, I believe to have found the problem. NDProxy.sys is a network device driver. I went in to my device manager and saw two active network device drives running. One was the default Dell connection device and the other I was unsure of but it seemed a bit random. I didn't look in to it much. I disabled the odd driver and vuala, things are back to normal.

Weird huh?

I am glad you succeeded. Usually there is no problem with multiple devices. Probably the one you removed was corrupted or something.

I didn't want to start another post because this guy seems to have the same problem like I do.

I have the some (should I call them? ) drivers not loading. Will sfc /scannow help ?

First I had some problems with audio. The music sounded like it is being rewinded or the player is skiping some places of the track. Then the boot time increased.I run the bootlog and saw that those drivers (like this guy's) are not loading, that is the reason of the long boot time. And my notebook HP G60-244DX is only 3 months old and has great configuration. The problem might be that I downgraded it from Vista to XP and had problems with some drivers, but I solved them.

So the point is the last thing I want to to is to re-install Windows again :).Help please?

This topic is over a year old so there won't be anymore assistance on it. You would be better off starting your own topic so that a Tech can help you faster.
Please start your own topic
Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system. Thank you for your cooperation.
