Hi All,

Can anyone offer advise, McAfee say it cannot be done.
When I receive a pop up from McAfee saying update available, click here for update.
I click, but my default browser is Firefox, and the update will not work.

I then need to change my browser default back to IE and then click update again.
Everthing then updates no problem.
It's then a case of changing the browser default back to Firefox, which is a pain in the [bleep].

McAffe say the update will only work in IE, which I find hard to beleive.

Has anyone got a way over this.

I know thats the simple answer, but it's when I do this that I get adware/spyware dropping in, even though I have Webroot, Ad-aware, spyblaster, McAfee Anti Spyware.

I would prefer to ignore IE6 100%, but it seems it's not possible.

Would any other browser work.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and post your log as a new topic in the Hijack This forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
